So I went to Bits and Pieces Saturday and got the neutral background fabric for our star block project. (Bottom picture on the right.)It seems to have a gold undertone and I think it has a nice texture. The middle picture gives a comparison of it to the three neutral fabrics that we picked from Thursday's meeting. Pretty close, I think.
The number of choices was actually somewhat limited since we needed 12 1/2 yards. So the woman who helped me and I could only look for very "fat bolts" because bolts in general only have 14-15 yards on them (interesting fact to know).
FYI, at the top is a picture with the "color wheel" of jewel tones.
If I bought the full (rest of the) bolt, Bits and Pieces gave a 25% discount. The bolt had 13 1/2 yards, so I went ahead and got the whole thing to get the discount. So I do have extra fabric for anyone who wants more than a yard and a half. (Laura already has dibs on 2 yards.) I have not done the math yet to determine individual cost, but will do so soon. Just wanted to get these pictures up quickly. Call me if you want me to cut you a piece and get started!
